Amazon.com Review
Snoop Dogg presents the Eastsidaz sophomore set Duces N Trayz was released earlier this year on the Dogghouse Label and it doesn't disappoint. There is no sophomore slump here thats for sure. This was released hot after Snoop's excellent Last Meal and there is no falloff for Snoop.

The production is what makes this cd better than their debut. Where the debut had that old G-Funk sound of early Snoop work, this one brings in the new element.......Crip Hop. The west coast sound was effectively updated on this cd. Production is provided by Battlecat(who is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers) Hi-Tek, Alchemist, FredWreck, Meech Wells, Jelly Roll, Ric Rock and Swizz Beats providing a tasty west coast platter.

The rhyming is provided by the Eastsidaz (Snoop, Goldie Loc, and Tray Dee) with guest appearances by the usual family members: Kokane, Latoiya Williams, Doggys Angels, Nate Dogg, Soopafly, Suga Free, Bad Azz, Butch Cassidy, Kurupt, RBx and others as well as outside talent provided by Mobb Deep. The rapping, for the most part, is satisfyingly gangsta without overdoing it. They remain real and believable on their songs (instead of just gangsta talk) which is great.

My favorite song is Crip Hop where Battlecat beautifully crafts an outstanding beat. The Eastsidaz come correct lyrically and Latoiya Williams on the break demonstrates why she needs a solo album with her sultry ghetto singing voice. The chemistry between the participants is off the chain. Other notable tight songs include: ILuvIt, Eastside Ridaz, I Dont Know, Welcome To the House, Friends, Gang Bang For Real, Cool, Dogghouse In Ya Mouth( a diss to Death Row), Connected, There Comes A time, Late Night, and Lo Low. Connected is surprisingly a very good song feat. Mobb Deep. It seems like these two groups wouldnt mix but they do an extremely good job here.

Dont Go Thinking that there aren't any bad songs though. I Pledge Allegiance is so weak that it isnt even listenable and the beat is unbelievable WACK! Also Swizz Beats does terrible on the beat as usual on Everywhere I Go. But Kokane and Eastsidaz salvage the track with some good flows.

This is that new West Coast sound and it is definitely a worthy purchase. Snoop Dogg and the Eastsidaz create magic on almost every song. Pick this up. Snoop Has Done It Again!
